I knew this would be a big year for my family, with lots of changes to be expected. But I think that the the biggest surprise of all was finding out that my son and his girlfriend were expecting a baby. That changed everything for us. At first it seemed like a huge problem because they are both so young. But now I think it is something to look forward to. They got married just a few days before Christmas! So, now I have gained a new daughter and my first grandbaby will be here in March. Things are looking up.
I think the lesson that I learned is to not be so overwhelmed when we are faced with unexpected surprises. Life goes on, we all get older, and people change, wether we like it or not! It's just how we choose to look at the situation that determines how we are going to deal with it. Learn to embrace the surprise with a positive attitude, and give it up to God. He will provide for us, He will lead us in the right direction, He will answer our prayers.
I look forward to the challenges that are sure to arise in the New Year. I feel armed and ready to go knowing that I have God, family and friends to pull us thru!
